HP EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC Crams a Full Computer Inside a Functional Keyboard

At CES 2026, HP reinvented the traditional keyboard, changing it into a really capable all-in-one device. Most all-in-one computers hide everything behind a large screen, leaving a separate keyboard and mouse on your desk to clutter things up. HP took the other approach with the EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC, which incorporates everything a Windows desktop requires within the keyboard itself.
Simply plug it into any compatible monitor, use the bundled wireless mouse, and you’re set to go. There’s no tower or bulky base, just the keyboard and whichever monitor suits the workspace. Ultra slim is the name of the game with this design, as the Eliteboard, at 12mm thick and 750 grams with the battery, fits comfortably into a bag alongside a laptop or tablet. The lightest version comes in around 1.5 pounds, but add the battery and associated cable and it climbs up to 1.69 pounds.

The full keyboard layout includes a numeric keypad, backlit keys, and a solid lattice-free design that resembles a standard office keyboard, complete with 2mm key travel on a membrane switch mechanism. Don’t worry about spills or excessive use; this PC is spill-resistant and has undergone military-grade durability testing. The cooling system is cleverly designed to be silent, with vents on the bottom and a slit above the function row. Air is pulled in and released out the rear, keeping the heat away from your fingertips during extended work sessions. It is also low noise certified for use in a quiet office or shared room.

Under the hood, you’ll discover AMD Ryzen AI 300-series processors ranging from entry-level Ryzen AI 5 options to higher-end Ryzen AI 7 Pro models that can perform over 50 trillion operations per second on local AI tasks. RAM choices include up to 64GB of DDR5 in dual slots and 2TB of SSD storage. Integrated Radeon 800-series graphics will tackle common tasks with ease. There’s even a single USB4 port that allows you to daisy-chain two 4K displays, transforming one cable into a multi-screen system.

Built-in stereo speakers and dual microphones allow for high-quality calls without the need for additional devices. Do you want some extra security? There is an option for a fingerprint reader for speedy login. If you need to be on the go, the 35Wh replacement battery provides approximately 3.5 hours of active use or days on standby. HP includes a pre-paired Bluetooth mouse and, for battery variants, a travel bag.

One of the most notable aspects of this machine is how simply it can be repaired, as a simple case removal allows you to swap out RAM, storage, the WiFi module, speakers, fans, and even the battery. You’ll find a tethered locked USB-C cable for safe setups, as well as a detachable version for users who prefer a more organized workspace. HP Wolf Security is also on board to protect against hardware-level threats. The Eliteboard G1A Next Gen AI PC will be available in March directly from the HP website, with final pricing to be announced closer to launch.
