Marvel’s Wonder Man Arrives on Disney+ This Month, New Trailer Teases Simon and Trevor’s Friendship

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II takes on the major role of Simon Williams, a Hollywood actor hoping for his big break. Simon works as a stunt performer to make ends meet, auditioning for roles left and right, hoping to land the one that will alter his life. When he learns that a renowned director intends to remake the classic Wonder Man film, he sees an opportunity of a lifetime. He honestly believes he was supposed to play the role, unlike this walking Groot robot.
Ben Kingsley returns as Trevor Slattery, a washed-up actor you may have seen in previous Marvel films. Trevor and Simon bond over their industry troubles and become good friends, but Trevor remains guarded about his history. He gives some sound advise from his years in the field, but there’s a reason he’s keeping quiet: Trevor has a secret link to the Department of Damage Control, the government agency that monitors super-powered individuals.

The second trailer shows Simon in an audition where the producers put him through his paces and make him sign a paper stating that he lacks any actual superpowers. Then things start to get intense: his latent strength emerges, and before you know it, objects are flying and the entire set is trembling. The next thing you know, the feds had declared Simon a significant threat and placed him on their bad list.

Demetrius Grosse stars as Simon’s brother, Eric Williams, who is dealing with his own issues. We also have Ed Harris as Simon’s tough-as-nails agent vying for bigger assignments. The remake’s supporting cast includes Lauren Glazier, Byron Bowers, and Zlatko Burić, the director.

Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi, conceived the show, which he collaborated on with writer Andrew Guest. This project’s directors are James Ponsoldt, Tiffany Johnson, and Stella Meghie, who are each working on one of the eight episodes. Marvel has positioned this one under their Spotlight banner, which implies we can expect some grounded, realistic stories with fewer huge crossovers.

All eight episodes will be available on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. We’re talking about a full season that you can binge watch from beginning to end, following Simon as he tries to combine his acting goals with his superpowers. This show is about what occurs when ordinary individuals find themselves in exceptional situations, including dealing with cameras and contracts after your life has been flipped upside down. Simon’s drama is set against the bright lights of Los Angeles, and it’s a perfect blend of comedy and high-stakes action.
