Czinger 21C Reclaims Production Car Laguna Seca Crown with Incredible 1:22.30 Lap

California’s WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has played host to some truly electrifying racing events. On December 9th, 2025, the Czinger 21C, a hypercar that’s been locked in a ‘rivalry for the ages’ with Koenigsegg, recording a 1 minute 22.30 seconds lap time, shaving a full two seconds off the production car lap record previously held by its rival.

Behind the wheel was Joel Miller, a seasoned racing pro who’d put the 21C through its paces just a few weeks prior on a punishing 1,000 mile road trip across the state. For those who might be new to the world of hypercars, the Czinger 21C is a vehicle that’s been handcrafted from the ground up in Los Angeles using cutting-edge 3D printing tech. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.88-liter V8, paired with electric motors, that produces a combined 1,250 horsepower.

The rivalry all started back in 2021 when Czinger managed to achieve a 1:25.44 lap time at Laguna Seca that saw it knock the McLaren Senna off of its pedestal. Koenigsegg responded the following year, and just last month the Koenigsegg Jesko, in its ‘Sadair’s Spear’ form, managed to shave 0.25 seconds off the record, despite being fitted with noise-reducing gear and heavy wheels to meet the track’s noise limits.

This latest achievement was different, as all the C21C needed was a standard exhaust that fitted neatly within the 21C’s original chassis. After the event, the very proud Lukas Czinger said: “We’d always said that the 21C was capable of a faster time in the right conditions…and now we’ve finally proved it.”
