Honor Magic 8 Pro Air Teased Ahead of Official Launch, Measures Just 6.1mm Thick

Honor enters the ultra-slim smartphone race with the Magic 8 Pro Air, a genuine iPhone Air challenger that arrives just as Apple begins to scale back on their own handset. This smartphone, set to ship in China on January 19, 2026, boasts some substantial hardware that defies the normal trade-offs.

At 6.1mm thick and weighing only 155 grams, the Magic 8 Pro Air feels incredibly light in the hand. The glass front and back are supported by an aluminium frame, and it even has water resistance for added peace of mind in regular use. Choose one of the four colours, black, white, purple, or orange, to achieve a clean, modern style that resists the desire to over-accessorize.

The phone’s front is dominated by its 6.3-inch OLED display. We’re talking 1200×2640 pixels for crystal-clear details, as well as a 120Hz refresh rate for easy scrolling. HDR support maximizes bright scenes, and the screen can even be bright enough to use outside. The phone’s LTPO technology allows it to adapt its refresh rate based on the situation, which should improve battery life.

Up front, you have a 50MP selfie camera that can also record 4K video.

The battery life is outstanding, thanks to silicon-carbon technology that allows it to pack a 5500 mAh battery into a remarkably thin shell. Wired charging is fast at 80W, including 5W reverse wired capability, or users can charge wirelessly at up to 50W.

Honor positions the Magic 8 Pro Air as a true flagship experience in a super-compact, lightweight device. Pre-orders have begun in China and are available in a variety of storage tiers. Global availability is still up in the air, but one thing is certain: this phone is far more powerful than you might think from a phone this compact.
