Samsung’s Retro OLED Cassette and Turntable Concepts Steal the Show at CES 2026

Samsung AI OLED Cassette Turntable Concept CES 2026
Samsung Display attended CES 2026 aiming to demonstrate that OLED screens can fit almost anywhere, including relics of the past. The AI OLED Cassette and AI OLED Turntable transform old music equipment into interactive helpers, each with a circular screen that responds to touch and displays some incredibly vibrant material.

Let’s start with the AI OLED Cassette. This compact device is supposed to resemble a traditional audio cassette, albeit with OLED panels instead of spools of plastic tape. These two side-by-side spherical screens are 1.5 inches each; one is used for interactive controls, similar to a smartwatch, where you can scroll through settings or select tunes, and the other displays features like playback or system alarms. On top of the two circles is a thin pill-shaped display that functions as a virtual dial, allowing you to make adjustments with a simple wiggle of your finger.

Samsung created this tape as part of a larger series of assistant-style speakers. Their cassette suggests music based on your listening habits, plays out recommendations immediately, and pulls up images or videos to match the mood of the room. The circular panels give the magnificent deep blacks and sharp colors that OLEDs are known for, so album art or basic animations stand out in a small package.

The AI OLED Turntable features a massive 13.4-inch circular OLED that dominates the design, reminiscent of your average old record player. The screen allows touch input, allowing you to swipe, tap, or rotate through menus as if you were holding a genuine vinyl disc. Don’t expect any specifics on how this thing will be used on a daily basis just yet, but it fits into the same assistant structure that we’ve seen: music suggestions, direct song selection, and some very fantastic visuals like synced videos or background graphics.

This turntable abandons the physical record and instead relies on the screen to do all of the heavy lifting. You can see album covers in their full grandeur or have the screen generate some pretty mind-bending backgrounds that change in rhythm with the music. There’s plenty of space for a more immersive experience, such as browsing music libraries or modifying settings with large sweeps of your palm. With some speakers, you’ve got a centerpiece for listening sessions, and the screen adds an additional dimension of enjoyment that standard players lack.

Samsung OLED Concept CES 2026
Both the cassette and the turntable have their roots in Samsung’s ongoing quest to demonstrate how flexible OLED screens can be in circular designs, and the company is particularly interested in how these screens may take on some genuinely novel forms for assistants that will not overshadow your home setting. They’re displaying these alongside some other interesting concepts, such as a lamp that changes its images in response to the music playing, all under the subject of how displays and smart features can improve your daily life.
