Evotrex PG5 Touted as World’s First RV Trailer That Makes Its Own Power for Off-Grid Travel

Evotrex, a company based in sunny California, made an impact at CES 2026 with its latest creation, the PG5, a travel trailer that can produce its own power on the fly. Alex Xiao, the company’s founder, claims it is the world’s first travel trailer that allows you to live off the grid without ever having to plug into a campsite.
The PG5’s architecture is focused on maintaining a continuous flow of electricity. The setup is built around a 43 kilowatt hour lithium iron phosphate battery, with solar panels on the roof generating 1.5 kilowatts of power during the day. When you need a boost, the onboard gas generator, the Horizon, comes in, providing an additional 225 kilowatt hours with a full tank of fuel. In total, you have almost 270 kilowatt hours of useful power at your disposal. The beauty of it all is that the solar and regenerative charging will keep the battery charged, leaving the generators to fill in the gaps.

This implies that customers who own the PG5 can keep all of their essentials operating regardless of where they are. With the energy arrangement, you may plug in your tools and camping gear via regular outlets or even transfer power back to your electric truck via the front-mounted NACS connector, receiving a quick charge of up to 60 kilowatts or slower AC power. Want to stop in a distant location and top up the truck without having to unhitch? Easy. If the power goes out at home, the same technology will keep the lights and appliances on for up to 12 kilowatts of power.

You can monitor battery levels, gasoline, solar production, and the water tank in real time using an easy-to-use software and onboard tablet. There’s even an off-grid calculator that can anticipate how long your power will last based on the weather and the appliances you want to use. To avoid wasting valuable electricity, the system automatically adjusts heating, cooling, and charging to ensure you get the most out of what you have.

Evotrex has also included active assist technology, which will make towing much easier. A sensor at the hitch monitors the forces being applied and then utilizes an electric motor to counterbalance some of the drag. This results in a smoother ride, less strain on your towing vehicle, and a significant advantage for electric truck owners in terms of range. When you finally park, the remote controls come in handy for making the final adjustments to get the trailer in the right spot. Air suspension is also suggested, as it elevates the body on difficult roads and lowers it on highways.

Inside, four people can sleep comfortably, and there’s a dinette at the other end that converts into a bed for two additional people, which is a handy little feature. The kitchen includes everything you need, including a double-burner induction stove, a convection microwave, a range hood to keep things clean, and a complete fridge to keep your food and drinks cool. There is a dry bath with a separate shower and toilet, which is great for individuals who need more privacy. Large windows open right up, allowing you to get some fresh air in; they even have built-in screens and shades to keep the pests and sun out.

A motorized deck in the back named ‘Terrece’ folds down, allowing you to step out onto a 43 square foot platform that can be used as a patio, loading area, or simply an extension of the living space. The structure follows automotive standards, thus the walls are multi-layer insulated and include no wood for improved durability. The dry weight of the standard model, the ‘Pioneer,’ is around 8,350 pounds, with a gross weight of 9,500 pounds. The top-of-the-line ‘Atlas’ model costs a little extra, but it comes with a lot more bells and whistles.

Pre-orders began almost immediately following the announcement at CES, with the ‘Pioneer’ starting at $119,990 and the fully loaded ‘Atlas’ model at $159,990. They aim to start manufacturing in late 2026, with the first units expected to be delivered in 2027.
