Drone Footage Shows That Harbin’s Giant Snowman Has Returned Bigger Than Ever

Every winter, Harbin, China really does transform into a magical winter wonderland, and for good reason, with residents as well as tourists alike counting down the hours till they can finally catch a glimpse of the city’s iconic giant snowman. This year, the snowman finally came to life on Dec 15th 2025, right in time for Christmas, and it stands a whopping 19 meters tall, 14 meters long, and 11 meters wide, all constructed from a staggering 3500 cubic meters of snow.
A crew of 64 highly skilled artists and over 100 highly motivated builders worked like crazy for 11 long, hard days to bring the massive snowman to life, helped out by machines spitting out snow 24/7 to keep the layers solid.

Every single day during the build, throngs of people made their way to Qunli Music Park to catch a glimpse of its progress, and shared lots of progress shots on social media before the finishing touches were even added. For those following the build, you may have even caught one of the livestreams. Why? This year it stands a full meter taller than last year. Right next door to the snowman is the Harbin Ice & Snow World, complete with an assortment of massive ice sculptures.
