Abxylute 3D One Handheld PC Boasts Glasses-Free 3D Display, Puts Games in Depth

Handheld gaming PCs continue to appear in a variety of designs, which is what makes them so exciting…from ultra slim tablets that fit easily into your pocket to bulkier machines designed to keep you on the couch all-day. The 3D One, the latest model from Abxylute, is a unique blend of a tablet-style device similar to a Microsoft Surface Pro but with controllers that can be snapped on and off at will. It runs full Windows games and can display them to in 3D without the need for special glasses.

The 3D One’s main body is a fairly normal flat rectangle, around the size of a Surface Pro, measuring 10.2 inches wide, 6.7 inches tall, and just a hair more than half an inch thick. At 1.92 pounds, it’s roughly the same weight as an iPad Pro, making it comfortable to hold and read through emails or watch movies. But when you add the two controllers, it becomes 14.4 inches wide, 1.9 inches deep, and weighs 2.45 pounds, making it feel a lot like a Nintendo Switch for gaming.

Those controllers simply clip onto the sides of the screen with some strong magnets, and each one has a whole set of buttons, a couple of Hall effect joysticks to keep the drift from happening over time, and even a touchpad in case you need to make some mouse-like movements in desktop mode. And if you want to take the controllers off, you’ll have a great huge tablet ready for some touch input. If you really need a keyboard, Abxylute has you covered with an optional one that just snaps onto the bottom edge, and they’ve even included a stand so you can set it up like a laptop if necessary. As expected, there are a few connectors along the borders for quick access, including a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C charging port, another USB-C, a USB-A slot, a headphone socket, and a microSD card reader. Behind it all is a 50-watt-hour battery and a decent 100-watt GaN charger, but don’t expect to get more than 3 or 4 hours of gaming before needing to recharge while playing hard games at full throttle.

Up front is a 10.95-inch touchscreen display that boasts an impressive 2560 x 1600 resolution, making even the smallest details pop in games and videos. It’s a real treat to watch with a 120 hertz refresh rate, cranking up the brightness to an impressive 480 nits to cut through even the brightest ambient lighting, and the wide color gamut means you can bet your money on seeing accurate hues. By turning a small button on the side, you can enter 3D mode, which uses a smart parallax barrier layer to split the image between your two eyes, providing a really immersive experience.

On top of the display is an infrared camera that keeps a close eye on where you’re looking, adjusting the 3D effect to keep it locked in even if you turn your head all the way around. Games that support it render natively in stereo, pulling depth data straight from Steam’s library and making objects leap forward or recede into the background in a delightfully natural way. Everything else is handled by the built-in program MagicView, which scans the scene in real time and automatically adds those extra layers; it works equally well on videos and photographs as it does on desktop windows. Currently, approximately 50 games support the native route, with many more expected before the end of the month. Flipping the switch off returns you to a conventional 2D panel.

Power is courtesy the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V chip, a member of the Lunar Lake family with eight cores that can boost up to a very creditable 4.8 gigahertz when the situation calls for it. Built-in Arc 140V graphics make light work of modern games at medium settings, churning out a smooth 30 to 60 frames per second on that lovely big screen. There are three power profiles to select from, allowing you to balance the requirement for speed against battery life as you see fit: a low-drain one for light jobs, a balanced one for most play, and a high one that can sustain 30 watts with bursts up to 50. And to help keep things ticking along, you’ve got 32 gigabytes of fast LPDDR5x memory soldered in place and a one-terabyte NVMe solid-state drive that’s dead easy to swap out for more space when you need it.

Windows 11 comes pre-installed, along with dual two-watt speakers for keeping things quiet and a five-megapixel front camera for making video calls. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth keep connections up to speed, with stereo speakers that pump out clear audio, even if they can’t quite match the thump of something a bit more substantial.

The Kickstarter asks $1,499 for the early bird and $1,799 for the standard unit with the full spec sheet. The VIP option saves you $50 with a deposit that’s store credit. Backers also get a free wireless controller and the first 80 units will ship in December, with the rest going out by February 2026.
