Johnson wrote on X: ‘Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family!!!
‘Lord please hold your healing hand over Kris and guide him back to health and safety.
‘Lord I ask that you please just get him through this safely. In your name, Amen.’
The 29-year-old was shot in the abdomen following an incident that took place in Midtown.
Boyd was taken to the Bellevue Hospital where he is reported to be in a critical but stable condition.
The shooting took place outside Sei Less, an Asian fusion restaurant which boats A List celebrities, including the likes of Cardi B and 50 Cent as regular attendees.
An altercation, which began as a verbal dispute, quickly escalated and culminated in two shots being fired before the gunman fled the scene in a blue BMW.
A police spokesperson said there have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
Boyd is currently in his first season with the Jets having signed as a free agent in March but has been sidelined with a shoulder injury.
