Actor Kurt Yue spoke about being a part of the rom-com film “Regretting You,” which stars Mckenna Grace and Mason Thames.

How was your experience in ‘Regretting You’?

It was fantastic. The cast and crew were amazing. The atmosphere on set was collaborative and respectful.

The lead actors, Allison Williams and Dave Franco, deserve much of the credit for creating such a great work environment.

What did “Regretting You” teach you about yourself?

It taught me that I’m much more convincing as a doctor on camera than I’d ever be in real life.

What did you like most about your character?

If someone asked me to perform a medical procedure for real, I’d just start yelling “cut!”

What inspires you each day as an actor?

Honestly, it’s my peers. The actors and creatives I see every day, the people grinding it out, doing self-tapes in their living rooms, creating indie projects, balancing day jobs, families, and still showing up to give their best.

Most of them aren’t household names (yet), but they’re incredibly talented and dedicated. Watching that kind of persistence and love for the craft keeps me inspired and motivated.

How does it feel to be an actor in the digital age? (Now with streaming, technology and social media being so prevalent)

It’s exciting and weird all at once. Technology has completely changed how we create and share work.

On one hand, there’s more opportunity than ever to get your work out there, but on the other, you have to stay adaptable.

The great thing is that an actor today can shoot a short film on their phone, post it online, and reach people all over the world. That’s powerful!

What do your plans for the future include?

I’ve always wanted to live in another country, somewhere I don’t speak the language.

I love the idea of being completely immersed in something unfamiliar and having to figure it out from scratch.

What is your advice for young and emerging actors?

Focus on what you can control. You can’t control who books you or how fast things happen, but you can control your preparation, your consistency, and your attitude.

Don’t wait for permission to call yourself an actor. Start learning, start creating, and keep showing up. That’s how it happens.

What does the word success mean to you? (my favorite question)

For me, success happened the moment I booked my very first small gig back in Ohio.

I didn’t grow up dreaming about acting, and I never planned to make it a career. So the fact that I get to do this for a living, that’s already living the dream.

What would you like to say to our readers about “Regretting You”? What’s the one thing you want them to get out of it.

What would you like to say to people about ‘Regretting You’? (What’s the one thing you want them to get out of it)

Bring tissues. Seriously. But more than that, I hope people walk away thinking about the relationships in their own lives.

It’s a story about forgiveness, love, and connection, and I think there’s something in it that everyone can relate to.
