Honda V3R 900 Prototype Motorcycle Reveal
Motorcycles have a way of pushing the limits and Honda just showed the crowd why they’re at the forefront. They unveiled the V3R 900 E-Compressor Prototype at EICMA 2025 in Milan, an incredible machine which takes their signature V3 engine and teams it up with an electric compressor. This isn’t some far-fetched fantasy of the future; Honda engineers have been experimenting with the concept since last year’s show, wow everyone with a bare engine before revealing the finished product. If you’re one of those riders who craves quick torque, the kind that gets you going from a standstill, this thing has a lot to be thrilled about.



Honda engineers began with a water-cooled 75-degree V3 configuration, with a 900cc engine split into two cylinders up front and one in the back. The result is a tiny bike that packs a lot into a small space with not an inch wasted. But the real magic happens with the electric compressor which kicks in on its own to blow air into the engine regardless of engine speed. At low rpm you get a lot of pull so you can zip past traffic or carve corners without having to wait for the power to come in. Honda claim this 900cc engine produces the same power as a 1200cc engine and consumes less fuel and emits less pollution.

The V3R 900’s bodywork wraps around a trellis frame and the famous single-sided swingarm giving the bike a sporty boxer stance with broad shoulders and a compact waist. The asymmetrical side panels give flair as if one side had a tiny give. The tank has a new badge called the Flagship Wing which will debut on Honda’s premium models next year. The front end features a round headlight framed low and wide, while the tail tapers swiftly. The whole design has a test livery feel to it, with shifting colors that appear to move with every movement, as if they’re trapped in a blast of volcanic rock beneath city lights.

The way power flows through this setup feels like it was engineered to keep you glued to the throttle, while the compressor reacts in a split second, supplying the engine with the necessary boost for smooth acceleration out of a turn. No waiting for exhaust fumes or belt slippage to attach to the crankshaft; just pure electric control that puts torque where you need it. The bike’s designers call this a balance of excitement and dependability, a way to take the best of decades of developing motorcycles that can handle whatever you throw at them.

The chassis details are still under wraps, but the trellis frame and swingarm look designed for agile handling, the kind that turns twisties into playgrounds. Brakes, suspension and electronics beyond the compressor are still unknown but expect Honda’s trademark blend of precision and feedback. Weight and seat height are yet to be published so we can only wonder how light and low this beast will be. Production is imminent and Europe will get a production model by 2027 so you have two years to wait.
