Manchester United offered chance to make shock signing of former Chelsea star | Football
Manchester United have been offered the opportunity to make a surprise January signing in the shape of former Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The 29-year-old, who turns 30 this month, has been with AC Milan since joining from Chelsea in 2023.
The England international has made 90 appearances for the Italian giants and remains a regular face in the first team, with 23 outings so far this season.
However, Loftus-Cheek has not been a regular starter, with 19 Serie A appearances this campaign, but just eight of those coming in the starting XI.
TalkSPORT report that AC Milan have offered Manchester United the chance to sign the former Chelsea man this month.
The Red Devils are not looking to make a permanent signing, but are considering a loan move until the end of the campaign.
Loftus-Cheek is looking for more game time and to boost his chances of making England’s World Cup squad in the summer.

He is already in Thomas Tuchel’s thoughts, playing against Wales in October, which was his first England appearance in seven years.
Whether he would get the game time at Manchester United he is looking for is not guaranteed, given the options interim manager Michael Carrick has in his squad.
In his first game since his appointment this month, Carrick fielded Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo behind Bruno Fernandes in the middle.
Mainoo had fallen down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim, but appears to have immediately climbed back up it under the interim boss.
The likes of Mason Mount and Manuel Ugarte are also battling for places in midfield, meaning Loftus-Cheek would be facing stern competition for a starting role.
The Red Devils do want a new central midfielder, but will wait for the summer to pursue one of their key targets in that area.
Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton are all possibilities, but will not be brought in this month.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday that there was a meeting featuring the Manchester United hierarchy and Carrick to decide on transfer plans over the rest of the January window.
