Actress Meg Bush chatted about “The CEO and the Country Girl,” which is streaming on AltaTV, where she worked alongside Jackson Tiller.
‘The CEO and the Country Girl’
Bush plays Avery Rogers opposite Jackson Tiller, who portrays Tyler Sinclair. Corey Gibbons directed it from a screenplay by Jenny Rosen.
The synopsis is: When her sister betrays her and a ruthless CEO targets her family farm, fiery small-town cowgirl Avery Rogers (Meg Bush) clashes—and sparks—with Tyler Sinclair (Jackson Tiller), the corporate heir sent to take her land.
As lust and loyalty collide, a small-town cookout—Tyler’s bold bid to save Avery and her father’s legacy—turns enemies into something dangerously close to lovers, and turning their worlds upside down.
On starring in “The CEO and the Country Girl,” Bush remarked, “It was honestly awesome. This was my first time working with AltaTV, and it was an awesome experience.”
Working with Jackson Tiller
On working with Jackson Tiller, Bush exclaimed, “It was incredible! Jackson and I hit it off immediately and we became besties. It was so much fun.”
Playing Avery Rogers
On playing Avery Rogers, she said, “I like that Avery has grit and a lot of strength. She is a tough cookie. So, it was nice to not resort to being a victim like a lot of other vertical dramas have.”
“Avery is always just kind of being her badass self, so it was really cool to have that grit,” Bush added.
Lessons learned from the screenplay
On the lessons learned from the script, Bush reflected, “I’m a city girl from New York and now I live in Los Angeles. It was really nice to get down and dirty in this project. There was something about putting on the southern accent. I really feel it now.”
“Avery doesn’t really care much about how she looks, and I don’t either as Meg,” Bush admitted. “So, it was nice to be able to play the tough cowgirl. When I grew up in Stony Brook on Long Island, I definitely took horseback riding.”
“So, I rode horses when I was younger, and it was really nice to get back to that,” she noted. “I felt like childhood Meg again.”
The digital age
On being a part of the digital age, Bush stated, “It’s really cool to be a part of like a medium where people are really experimenting and trying new things. There is no box currently. So, it’s really cool to see new platforms and old platforms trying new things and not being stuck in the original formula.”
“People are trying new genres such as this one, and they are making the acting more grounded and allowing for some creative freedom for the actors and the directors. So, that is really cool,” she elaborated.
“Something I valued a lot about this project is that AltaTV trusted our creative minds, so we just ran with it. We didn’t have to be word perfect. We felt the chemistry and where the scene wants to move,” she explained.
“Our director, Corey, was really amazing as well. Corey was heavily involved in the creative process as well. He was a real team player,” she added.
Stage of her life
On the title of the current chapter of her life, Bush revealed, “Fun and Passion.”
“I’m trying to really chase the work that I feel passionate about,” she said. “We are lucky enough to be able to be in projects that we feel connected to in some way.”
“The word that I have going into 2026 is fun,” said. “I am making sure that fun is always at the forefront because that’s how we all enjoy this work so much. The burnout in our industry is so real.”
Success
On her definition of the word success, Bush said, “I think there needs to be a balance right between feeling like you’re already in a version of success for yourself, but then also yearning for the next step of success for you.”
“So, I’m trying to like find that balance right now,” she admitted. “I just had a meeting with my manager and we’re talking about this year, different auditions and things coming up and work outside of verticals, and that’s interesting.”
“I’m doing what I love,” she underscored. “I moved out here over a year ago, and I feel like I have a family and a really steady sense of work, and I really love it.”
“Then, there is also that wanting to make sure you’re not so content that you don’t strive for what is next for you,” she added.
Message for her fans
For her fans, she expressed, “The fans are so important I’ve been trying to connect more with the fans online. It is really surreal every day. I started on this app called Cameo, where I talk one-on-one with people and I get to answer their questions.”
“It really reminded me how exciting and special it is to have human beings with their own families and friends and lives and work who like take time to also support us and enjoy our content. It’s like the most magical, insane, awesome thing ever,” Bush concluded.
