Actor Craig Geoghan chatted about starring in “Make or Break Holiday” on Hallmark, where he played Reid, the brother of Hunter King’s character Liv.

New Hallmark holiday film

The synopsis is: Liv (Hunter King) and Daniel (Evan Roderick) grow frustrated planning Christmas in their new home and agree to go on a break, but they must pretend to still be a happy couple as they host their families for the holidays.

On being a part of “Make or Break Holiday,” Geoghan remarked, “It was such an awesome experience. We shot it in Canada. I’ve never been there before, so that was a really cool thing to get to do.”

“The entire experience was absolutely incredible, and it exceeded my expectations. It was so much fun. I’m still in touch with everybody, so I loved it,” he added.

Playing Reid

On playing Reid, Geoghan said, “Playing Reid was good. He was a fun character, and I feel that he was written specifically for me. It really felt that way. It allowed me to lean in the comedic side and the humor.”

“Then, at certain moments, I was able to find another layer, which was my story on the show ‘Finding Mr. Christmas.’ I started out as the funny guy but as it went on, I found another layer to myself in the same way that Reid does,” Geoghan elaborated.

Reuniting with Hunter King

On reuniting with Hunter King, Geoghan stated, “I’ve worked with Hunter King before in ‘Finding Mr. Christmas.’ So it was nice just to have a familiar face, and somebody to lead the way for me. The rest of the cast and crew was absolutely amazing.”

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, Geoghan revealed, “Renaissance.”

“There are a lot of changes going in my life right now, and I think I need to accept them, whether they are for the good, the bad, or anything in between,” he explained.

“So, I think ‘Renaissance’ is very fitting for me right now,” he added.

‘Finding Mr. Christmas’ Season 2 win

Geoghan was the winner of the second season of “Finding Mr. Christmas,” which is hosted by Jonathan Bennett.

Regarding his “Finding Mr. Christmas” Season 2 win, Geoghan expressed, “It was a bit surreal. It didn’t feel totally real until the public knew. When it was announced at the screening of the finale at Rocco’s in West Hollywood, that was when it felt real.”

“It was amazing to have all of that support from everyone,” Geoghan said, effusively. “It felt like being a celebrity for a night, so that was awesome!”

Lessons learned from his ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’ journey

On the lessons learned from his “Finding Mr. Christmas” journey, he reflected, “This journey taught me that it’s okay to be vulnerable. As an athlete, especially a quarterback, my job was always to stay even-keeled, but acting is not like that. You have to wear your emotions on your sleeve and be willing to go high and be willing to go low.”

“I learned that throughout the reality show experience, and I think that’s going to make me not only a better actor, but a better person as well,” Geoghan acknowledged.

Advice for young and aspiring actors

For young and emerging actors, Geoghan remarked, “To prepare but not to plan. Sometimes, actors go into a scene with the idea of doing a certain thing, and then they do it, but it doesn’t necessarily do the scene justice.”

“So, I think it’s important to understand who you are, who are you speaking with, and what you are speaking about in the scene,” he observed.

“After that, just let it flow organically and see where it takes you,” he added.

Success

Regarding his definition of the word success, Geoghan said, “Success means being happy with what I am doing for a living. If glitz and glamour and fame come with it, then that’s all good but I really just want to be happy with what it is that I’m doing.”

“Hopefully, I can be able to make a living off of that, and also do some good in the world, where I can perhaps change some people’s lives along the way,” he added.

Message for his fans

For his dedicated Hallmark fans and supporters, Geoghan said, “Thank you so much! I did not expect this to be the whirlwind that it is. The fact that I am getting messages is so cool, as well as signing autographs and taking pictures is a bit bizarre.”

“I’ve never really had fans before,” he admitted. “As an athlete, perhaps I did have some fans in the stands while playing games, but it’s a bit different to be reached out to via social media and to meet people in-person that are Hallmark fans is a bit surreal.”

“So, thank you from the bottom of my heart because without the fans, ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’ would not exist. Thank you again so much,” Geoghan reiterated.
