TCL Note A1 NXTPAPER Unveiled, is AI-Enhanced Tablet with a Real Paper-Like Display

TCL unveils the Note A1 NXTPAPER, a specialized digital notepad designed to address the growing number of users who are fed up with too glossy screens and E-ink refresh rates that are far too slow. Its screen measures 11.5 inches, takes up the entire thin aluminum body, while weighing only 500 grams. You should be able to hold it with one hand for hours without straining your hand, thanks to a thicker bezel on one side that provides a good solid grip.

NXTPAPER Pure technology provides you with a full-color LCD screen with a special non-glossy coating that efficiently minimizes glare and reduces those pesky blue light levels to a level where you can work for long periods of time without feeling fatigued. The results are supported by necessary TÜV and SGS certificates. However, it maintains the 120Hz refresh rate that we’ve all come to expect, which means that scrolling and writing are silky smooth, with no latency or ghosting as seen on previous E-ink displays.

The panel has a 2200 by 1440 pixel resolution, with a staggering 16.7 million color options as well as variable brightness that will peak at about 300 nits. The surface still feels like smooth paper beneath the bundled T-Pen Pro stylus, but unlike some other E-ink gadgets, the colors truly do explode when you need them to. With 8,192 pressure levels, a dual-tip design with an eraser, and a latency of less than 5 milliseconds, the stylus itself is quite amazing. With only a swipe of the screen, you can access real-time transcription, translation, and automated summaries that distill lengthy conversations into essential points. Naturally, handwriting recognition is available, which transforms your scratch into legible text. Oh, and there are programs that can improve sloppy handwriting and, if you’d like, even rewrite it. The Inspiration Space helps you organize your thoughts and disorganized notes into a cohesive whole, and formula recognition is a pleasant bonus.

Using online services like Dropbox or Google Drive or transferring files directly over the same Wi-Fi network makes file sharing a breeze. If you want to get really fancy, you can even purchase cases that turn this device into a mini workstation by adding a flip cover or a full keyboard. By the end of February 2026, the Note A1 NXTPAPER will be available in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific for $549. According to TCL, this device is directly targeted at competitors like the reMarkable Paper Pro or Kindle Scribe, but it has a few extra features like a ton of extra storage, full color, and a really zippy performance.
