Austin Whitworth, fitness influencer, content creator, and coach chatted about his latest endeavors in the fitness industry. He also discussed the importance of mental health especially in this digital age.
Walt Disney once said: “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” This quote applies to Austin Whitworth.
New Year’s resolutions for 2026
On his New Year’s resolutions for 2026, Austin shared, “I don’t make any. I am thankfully in a position where I don’t have any resolution that I want to make.”
“I am going to continue to grow and I am going to continue to get better at what I’ve been doing for the past year. I’m in a good place right now, physically, mentally, and spiritually. What I want to do is keep going one percent every single day,” he elaborated.
“If I can get a little better each day in 2026, by 2027, I am going to be a whole new man, and that goes year by year by year. Just focusing on how I get a little bit better every single day,” he added.
Fitness journey… areas of growth and improvement
“My fitness journey has been great,” he admitted. “I have been enjoying this journey. I’ve been feeling like I look pretty good. I feel like I’ve been progressing in the gym, and I balance the aspect of staying in shape while growing muscle.”
“I still like to run 5Ks, do cardio and play basketball. I like to be muscular and lift heavy weights. It’s not easy balancing the two being a hybrid athlete but the areas that I want to keep improving on are to continue to be lean and to continue to stay healthy while making sure that I grow more muscle while staying athletic,” he elaborated.
“Fitness to me is not only about looking good, but also about feeling good in everyday life,” he explained. “Eventually when I am older, I would love to someday run with my kids, and make sure that I’m great shape for the rest of my life and that fitness — as a whole — is there to improve my life.”
“Just appreciating where I am is important but also making sure that I am enjoying every other aspect of life as I continue to get better in my fitness journey,” he added.
Whitworth on whether walking is movement or exercise
Whitworth discussed the benefits of walking. “I go on at least one or two walks a day separate from my actual workouts,” he said.
“Walking itself is great when you are trying to burn more calories and be more active without getting a full sweat or having to spend that much time specifically to working out. A lot of people don’t like working out because it is extremely painful for them,” he elaborated.
“Walking is great because you can go on multiple walks a day,” he noted. “It can be six 10-minute walks or four 15-minute walks. Whatever it is… if you are walking 40 to 60 minutes a day, you are going to be in a lot better shape than most people who are not walking that much.”
“Also, if you are walking after you are eating a meal, it is very good for your digestion, and I love to do it. I feel a lot better when I walk directly after eating a decent-sized meal as well,” he explained.

“I also like to incorporate walking in general into everyday life. Walking is one of the easiest ways to improve your physical health but also enjoy life. It is one of the best ways to both stay in shape and enjoy life,” he added.
Future plans
Regarding his future plans, Whitworth shared, “I’m a junior in Rollins College in Florida, where I am studying Business Management.”
“I plan on graduating soon, and I’m in the process of planning to improve my social media and continuing to put out great content that inspires and motivates and is humorous to some people, my followers and nonfollowers as well,” he said.
“I want to develop myself, my business, and my online presence along the way,” he noted.
“I’m planning on growing my coaching business, my clothing business, and I’m in the process of creating a new product, which I will announce at a future time. It will be something that people don’t expect but people will hopefully love,” he foreshadowed.
“I have been working really hard on this for the past couple of months, and I am excited to announce it in the near future,” he added.

Mental health in the digital age
On the significance of mental health in the digital age, Whitworth said, “It’s very important!. The importance of mental health is something that everybody knows is important, but we all are so easily addicted to things that decrease our mental health.”
Whitworth continued, “We tend to doomscroll social media, and different habits like this — when we overdo it — causes us to feel stressed and anxious and worry about things that we shouldn’t worry about in the first place.”
“Perhaps we compare ourselves to people that have a whole different life or people on social media (that you may follow) may not show the whole side of their story. They post themselves in perfect lighting, they don’t post their bad photos or they don’t show their struggles,” he elaborated.
“Make sure make you are on your phone or online a lot, remember that most people are not showing the whole story, so comparison itself can be a tool to help motivate you to improve,” he explained.
“I want you to compare yourself while looking at the whole perspective,” he noted. “If you follow an influencer, know that most likely, they are posting their highlights; they are not posting their low points.”
“That’s the truth of social media. It’s a highlight reel most of the time. Also, remember that you don’t know the full side of everybody’s story,” he acknowledged.
Unplug and unwind in the digital age
In an effort to unplug and unwind, Whitworth said, “Every single morning I don’t go on my phone.”
“Every single morning, I wake up, make my bed, shower, eat healthy food, I check on my clients, and I go to the gym for one to two hours. When I am working out, I am listening to positive or worship or motivational music. That helps me get in the zone or in a flow state,” he elaborated.
“When I am in the gym for those one or two hours, nothing else matters,” he admitted. “The stresses of work, life and business just go away. I focus on lifting weights and doing intensive cardio, and that helps me get away from the negative energy in this life that I can’t control.”
“With social media and online, there are so many things that you cannot control,” he noted. “When you focus on the things that you can control such as working out, eating healthy and walking more, these things make me feel so much more fulfilled because I know I am doing everything in my power to improve my life, and that helps my mental health as well.”
“To unwind, every night I do watch some TV with my family. Right now, I am watching ‘Stranger Things.’ That helps me decompress from work and business, and it helps me sleep better and feel more at ease,” he added.

Advice for people that wish to being their fitness journey in 2026
For hopefuls that wish to begin their fitness journey in 2026, he said, “Walking is one of the best ways to get in better shape because it is low impact and low intensity.”
“Walking does not require as much mental fatigue to prepare yourself for. It is much easier to convince yourself to go on a walk consistently. You can do it in your neighborhood or your apartment gym. It doesn’t take much effort to actually do,” he said.
“In general, you want to eat more clean protein, you want to limit empty calories (such as doughnuts and cookies) and liquid calories. One of the best ways to stop overeating is to stop buying such foods… That makes it easier to resist temptation,” he elaborated.
“Also, you may want to start weight training whether you want to lose weight or build muscle. It is one of the best ways to improve your body composition and your health as a whole. That’s a great form of physical activity regardless of your goals,” he explained.
“One of the most underrated and neglected aspects of fitness is sleep. You want to sleep and you want to recover. Aim for at least eight hours of high-quality sleep per night. During sleep is when your muscles are growing and recovering,” he said.
“Making sure that you sleep is important to have good workouts and to have high energy during your workouts. So, sleep is important, weight training consistently is important, getting more steps in per day, and eating a lot of protein,” he expanded.
“All of these things will help you get in better shape regardless of your specific health goals,” he added.
Greatest lesson that the fitness industry has taught him
On the greatest lesson that the fitness industry has taught him, Whitworth reflected, “Fitness as a whole has taught me that whatever you want in life, it is up to you to make that happen. It is not up to your friends or your family or anybody else, it is up to you!”
“In fitness, you can control everything… the foods you are putting into your body and how consistent you are in your weightlifting routine, and you can control your future,” he said.
“Everything in fitness is up to your control, and that’s what it has taught me. In life, you can’t ask for handouts, you can’t buy a good physique. It’s up to you to want to put in the work, and that’s why I love fitness so much. Everything is in your power, especially in regard to staying consistent,” he elaborated.

Message for his fans and supporters
For fans and supporters, he said, “I would like to say that I would be here without them. Thank you for your continuous support! Thank you for rocking with me.”
“I hope that every single video that I’ve put out inspires you. I hope that my content inspires and motivates you, and that it makes you want to become a better version of yourself. This is why I am doing this for! I want to help make the world a better place, and to inspire people to become the best versions of themselves,” he explained.
“As a content creator, influencer, and fitness coach, I wouldn’t be here without my followers, clients, and even my naysayers,” he admitted.
“Thanks to everybody who has been tuning into my journey! I will continue to keep showing up and to keep doing my best to improve to put myself in a position to help other people become the best versions of themselves as well,” he concluded.
