Marcus Brodie chatted about being a part of “Finding Mr. Christmas” Season 2 on the Hallmark Channel.

It is hosted and executive produced by Jonathan Bennett (“Mean Girls”), and Melissa Peterman serves as a lead judge.

Season 2 of ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’

On being a part of this Hallmark reality show, Brodie remarked, “Oh my gosh, it was amazing. It was a time for me to really learn about myself. I just went into it willing to learn about how much I’ve grown, willing to learn from Jonathan Bennett, and learn from the other guys.”

“I knew it was going to be a real learning experience, and I feel like I’ve learned so much about myself in so many different ways,” he noted.

Lessons learned from this show

On the lessons learned from this show, he revealed, “It taught me how much I’ve grown!”

“When I first moved to Los Angeles — I’ve been here about 4.5 years now — I don’t think I could have done this show because I wouldn’t have been able to express myself and be myself in front of the camera and just be myself,” he elaborated.

“When you’re acting, you get to kind of step into somebody else’s shoes as opposed to having to actually express yourself, and be yourself,” he noted.

“So, I wouldn’t have been able to do that,” he admitted. “The acting itself was so hard, and all of the challenges were so hard. It was all one take in a short amount of time with the scripts, but fortunately, all the work I’ve done over the years got me to the point where I am able to perform in a certain way on the show.”

“It really shows that it just takes that one thing that can skyrocket you to the next level. You never know what’s going to come along and really propel you to the next level in life,” he explained.

“So, you just got to stay open to all the opportunities that come and ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’ came to me and I’m happy for it,” Brodie added.

Future plans

On his plans for the future, he remarked, “Right now, I’m just open to anything. Acting is definitely what I’m pushing forward, and what I’m growing towards.”

“I still do a lot of modeling commercial work as well, but I want to be an actor,” he admitted. “I’ve been shooting some movies, auditioning a lot since the show and even before the show. So, I’m just staying on the grind,” he said.

“It’s just that one opportunity that can get you to the next level, and I will see where things go from there,” he added.

The digital age

On being a part of the digital age, he said, “Well, streaming makes it a lot easier because I feel it’s easier for people to binge-watch a show like ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’ and they can catch up or even watch the show in real time as it’s airing.”

“Before streaming was a thing, if you missed the first episode, you were already behind. So, you would be less likely to want to watch the show in general. As a result, streaming helps out a lot with that,” he said.

“I still need to work on getting better at social media,” he admitted. “I find that if I’m not giving value, then I don’t have a reason to post on social media.”

“So, I really need to find a way to give value to anybody that’s following me or anybody on social media. I feel like I should be posting for a reason,” he added.

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, Brodie said, “Searching for opportunity and knowing it will come one day.”

“Also, staying open to any opportunity that come my way,” he explained.

Superpower of choice

If he were to have any superpower, it would be to “Never have to sleep.”

“That would be an amazing superpower because I could be double as productive, and I would be able to do more things that I wanted to do,” he admitted.

Success

On his definition of the word success, Brodie said, “I think success is the ability to be able to take care of my loved ones.”

“If I can make sure that all of my loved ones are taken care of, then that would be a blessing. I would consider that me being successful,” he explained.

Message for his new Hallmark fans

For his new Hallmark fans, Brodie expressed, “Thank you guys for watching! I appreciate all the kind words. I was at a Watch Party for the finale, and people were coming up to me and saying such positive things such as that they were ‘rooting for me’ and that ‘they wanted me to win’ and that meant a lot.”

“I just want to thank everyone for watching, for the kind words, for believing in me and for following me on this journey that I’m going on,” he said, effusively.

“I can’t wait to show more to everybody and have them see me in movies and TV shows in the future,” Brodie concluded.
