Laura Woods collapses live on ITV while presenting England women’s football | Football
Laura Woods collapsed while presenting ITV’s coverage of England women’s friendly against Ghana on Tuesday night.
The 38-year-old was caught by pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante before ITV quickly cut to a wider shot of the two teams warming up on the pitch at St. Mary’s Stadium.
After a brief moment of silence on air, ITV4’s broadcast then cut to an advert break.
When the coverage returned, presenter Katie Shanahan announced she had taken over from Woods, who had been ‘taken ill’.
‘As you have probably noticed we don’t have the wonderful Laura Woods because she’s just been taken ill but she’s in very good hands so I’m stepping in at late notice,’ Shanahan said.

Shanahan later added: ‘She’s in really good hands and we’re wishing her a speedy recovery.’
Speaking at half time, Shanahan said: ‘As you may all be aware, Laura Woods fell ill at the start of the programme but we want to reassure you she is doing okay. We all send her our love.’
Woods’ fiance, the former Love Island contestant, Adam Collard, gave viewers a positive update shortly after her collapse on air.
‘Laura is all ok and with the right people,’ he wrote on social media.
‘Thank you for all of your kind messages.’
Woods has been a regular on ITV’s coverage of the Lionesses, presenting both the 2023 Women’s World Cup and Euro 2025.
The 38-year-old also presents TNT Sport’s coverage of the Champions League and has worked as a presenter on radio station talkSPORT.
In January this year, Woods gave birth to her first child, a boy named Leo Ernie Collard, before returning to TV in April.
Woods and Collard became engaged in September last year after he proposed on a beach in St Ives, Cornwall.
